Angry men with pointy things sent to secure a foreign city are pretty much alike anywhere. That's what I've heard. So far nothing's convinced me different.

About This Quote

Arthur Conan Doyle was a famous writer of Sherlock Holmes stories. He also wrote the novel, The Lost World. In his tale, he describes a group of men who set out to explore Antarctica. On their journey, they encounter an angry ape-like creature that is wearing the remains of an Air Force uniform.

Later, this creature is described as "an angry man with a pointed stick." This wordplay was on purpose by Doyle. He was referring to the famous group of explorers, the ill-fated Erebus expedition led by Robert Falcon Scott.
